What
are the Demographics of a Spin Class?: Athletes,
non-athletes, runners, cyclists, non-cyclists, students,
etc... enjoy the benefits of Spinning. People of all
ages and fitness levels attend Spinning Classes.
What
should I wear and/or bring to class?: It
is suggested that you wear light clothing and be prepared
to sweat! Please bring your own towel and a full water
bottle to class. You will definitely finish one or
two bottles of water. (According to fitness standards,
it is suggested that you drink 1 oz of water per minute
of exercise. ) Also, you may find comfort from wearing
biking shorts or using a gel seat, but neither are
required. Heart rate monitors are also suggested,
but not mandatory.
How
long is the Spinning Class?: On average,
Spinning classes are approximately 45 minutes long.
This includes a five-minute warm-up, a 35 minute varied
terrain ride and concludes with a 5 minute cool down.
In some cases, instructors may extend a class a few
minutes in order to accommodate requests or to allow
extra warm-up/cool down time.
What
if I can't keep up with the person next to me?: Spinning
is not about competition. Spinning is a ride at your
own pace. You control your resistance and speed. You
do not need to "keep up" with anyone other
than yourself. Some riders target strength over speed,
and visa versa. Before each ride, it is important
to ask yourself "What is my goal for the class?".
Then, while you are riding, focus on that goal and
don't let what the person next to you is doing influence
your ride/goal for the day.
How
many calories will I burn?: You will burn
500-800 calories per class. Please fuel your body
ahead of time. Do not come to class if you haven't
eaten all day long. Even during early morning classes,
eat a small meal or snack ahead of time.
How
much does Spinning Cost?: The FIRST CLASS
IS ALWAYS FREE! After that, it is $8 per class, $50
for 10 classes and the best value is $90 for 20 classes.
You do not have to be a member of Super Future Fitness
to enjoy Spinning at the gym.
Do
my Spins ever expire?: No. Your spins do
not expire. You do not have to use them within any
certain amount of time.
Are
all classes/instructors the same?: Spinning
classes vary as often as an instructor 's style. The
majority of classes taught at SFF all all-terrain
classes. This means that you will experience alternating
flats, hills, jumps, and sprints in any class you
take. Super Future Fitness's Spinning program is unique
because all of our instructors have different styles.
To vary your workouts, we encourage you to try out
all of our instructors.
What
types of music is played?: All types of
music are played throughout the workout. From techno
to dance, Top40, disco, heavy metal, rock, and country
- there is a significant variety, just like the workouts.
If you have a particular CD that you find motivating,
let the instructor know. Perhaps they can make a class
out of it.
