The World is Spinning are you?
Spinning® Frequently Asked Questions:
What should I wear and/or bring to class?: It is suggested that you wear light clothing and be prepared to sweat! Please bring your own towel and a full water bottle to class. You will definitely finish one or two bottles of water. (According to fitness standards, it is suggested that you drink 1 oz of water per minute of exercise. ) Also, you may find comfort from wearing biking shorts or using a gel seat, but neither are required. Heart rate monitors are also suggested, but not mandatory.
How long is the Spinning Class?: On average, Spinning classes are approximately 45 minutes long. This includes a five-minute warm-up, a 35 minute varied terrain ride and concludes with a 5 minute cool down. In some cases, instructors may extend a class a few minutes in order to accommodate requests or to allow extra warm-up/cool down time.
What if I can't keep up with the person next to me?: Spinning is not about competition. Spinning is a ride at your own pace. You control your resistance and speed. You do not need to "keep up" with anyone other than yourself. Some riders target strength over speed, and visa versa. Before each ride, it is important to ask yourself "What is my goal for the class?". Then, while you are riding, focus on that goal and don't let what the person next to you is doing influence your ride/goal for the day.
How many calories will I burn?: You will burn 500-800 calories per class. Please fuel your body ahead of time. Do not come to class if you haven't eaten all day long. Even during early morning classes, eat a small meal or snack ahead of time.
How much does Spinning Cost?: It costs absolutely nothing if you are a current member of Super Future Fitness.
Are all classes/instructors the same?: Spinning classes vary as often as an instructor 's style. The majority of classes taught at SFF are all-terrain classes. This means that you will experience alternating flats, hills, jumps, and sprints in any class you take. Super Future Fitness's Spinning program is unique because all of our instructors have different styles. To vary your workouts, we encourage you to try out all of our instructors.
What types of music is played?: All types of music are played throughout the workout. From techno to dance, Top40, disco, rock, and country - there is a significant variety, just like the workouts. If you have a particular CD that you find motivating, let the instructor know. Perhaps they can make a class out of it
